Bordocs

Bordocs Documentary Forum is a space to reflect on the processes of recording reality. In its submissions, Bordocs includes the different ways of creating and understanding non-fiction: avant-garde formats, discourses, texts, images and audio oriented towards describing the ways in which we capture our everyday life.

Bordocs emerges in 2003 as the first festival in Mexico to specialize in the creative documentary genre. The Forum is now a meeting platform for young filmmakers, producers, scholars and non-fiction specialists. Bordocs is also an opportunity to watch outstanding documentaries and get to know the area’s tendencies.

Documentaries have regained their starring role as a multifaceted means to tell stories, address social issues, or put forth a reflexive or personal discourse through interactive or hybrid means. Over the past years documentaries have enjoyed an international boom and have become a nucleus where multiple artistic and educational disciplines converge. Bordocs Documentary Forum provides a small grain of sand in the Tijuana-San Diego border and offers a common place for the creation and enjoyment of this cinema that stares back at us.
