Auto-Play: Video diary workshop

Auto-Play focuses on the use of the video-diary format by means of personal cameras –mobile type flips-. The diary will reflect everyday life through intimate testimonies and by means of the collaborative method with a group of young people. Auto-Play references Alexander Astruc’s maxim and his stylo-camera (camera-pen) theory, a tool capable of describing reality as we are allowed to capture it, with the immediateness of a pen, stripped of the excess of resources and production that make up traditional film crews, maintaining the idea that the director uses the camera in a personal and creative manner, facilitating the means for spontaneous interpretation.

Feedback: Sound Creation Workshops

“It occurs when sound is captured and amplified over and over and over…” This is how Feedback has expanded since its origin, working for universities and cultural institutions, offering sound creation workshops: Studio recordist, Home studio, Audio post (Sound Desing, Filmscoring, Dialogue Editor), Location Recordist and Music Producer. The workshop provides tools and abilities that focus on design, searching for sound, and sound production and postproduction, always with the availability of the instructors during and after the workshop for counseling. If you need a workshop in a specific field we will design it for you, estimate a budget, and teach you.

Workshop held at: Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and Universidad Iberoamericana del Noroeste (2008-2009)

Polen Project Workshops

Polen is an interactive public art project, in which communities of teenagers construct discourses about themselves and their environment through video, photography and sound media. Polen’s structure is based on a series of programs (workshops) that offer technical training (developed as intensive courses) on the use of production and audiovisual tools, as well as a multidisciplinary theoretical awareness. The expectation is that from this, a series of audiovisual products will develop that will in turn activate in these young people’s lives dynamics of self representation. Polen’s educational programs are designed from a participatory work dynamic. We want them to tell us about themselves, their likes and dislikes, and their social reality. We are interested in creating links between artists and teenagers in our community as a means of generating communities that are made up of thinking producers that are well aware of the value of their words and the representation of their reality as a means of cultural enrichment. We are interested in accessing the subjectivity of the younger generations thinking about the value of the cultural manifestations that can be derived from these encounters. Polen began in 2004 and is still forming and working with young filmmakers in Mexico, Spain and the United States.
